Contemporary research in the field of mental health emphasizes the importance of trust and security in relationships. LCCS recognizes the investment people make when they share personal details of their feelings, concerns, and life circumstances with our clinical staff. We honor the sensitive nature of seeking mental health treatment. Empathy, respect for the individual, and clinical expertise are combined to ensure that all clients receive the help they need. Our Program Director makes every effort to assign a Clinician or Behavioral Health Associate who will be a good match for you.
At LCCS our clinical team will assist you in identifying goals for problem solving. The therapeutic approach begins with an initial meeting with a clinician during which we strive to understand the current issues that bring you to LCCS as well as your history. Many people seek our help in order to change patterns which have been going on for years. Circumstances in one's background including early attachments with caregivers, helps us to see how those relationships impact the individual throughout life. We help you understand the different factors which have led you to be who you are - to deepen your understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and awaken awareness. We know from many years of practice, that assisting people in expanding their knowledge of themselves and others significant to them, opens the possibility for enriching life, weeding conflict and increasing positive experiences.
Through support and compassion, we work to encourage the development of effective communication - often difficult to do on your own when you are struggling with change and crisis. We help clients identify their relational styles and those of your significant others, and we provide tools which you can use to improve your capacity to achieve goals. Many issues which challenge people have to do with insecurity in asserting their needs which can cause one to feel out of control. We are committed to providing our clients with education and a safe place to work through their problems and to strengthen one's ability to be an agent of change in their own life.
